  1. Antivirus 2009

One of the most common infections we see at I FIX PC'S is Antivirus 2009, it can be disguised as the following as well; System Antivirus 2008, Ultimate Antivirus 2008, Vista Antivirus 2008, XP Antivirus 2008 and probably many more!

It miraculously appears on your computer posing as antivirus software, and informs the user with many fake popups and messages reporting on a supposed infection.

    How does it get there?

Usually spread through trojans like Zlob or Vundo. Dodgy software downloads can harbour such trojans, but it doesn't take Einstein to guess the types of websites to keep away from!

If you're computer is suffering form the above or any other 'weird' symptom, give us a call!

  4. Is Your Computer Running Slow?

If your computer is running really slow it maybe time to get it to us for a Computer Tuneup. You may have a virus and spyware infested PC!

We use the best tools in the business to sanitize and tweak your computer into top condition again.

Recently I went on a visit to a customers house who had over 900 virus infections on her PC, I actually managed to clean them all and also gave the computer a tuneup as well to bring it back to lightning speed operation!

Even if you think you are well protected, think again...I've cleaned customers PC'S which are using up to date subscription based antivirus software...and I've had many a surprised customer when I tell them I've found 30 spyware infestations!

So if your computer or laptop is running slow give us a bell on 01473 422373 or 07709919750

  5. Backup, backup and did I mention backup!

Time and time again I have had many a customer who do not keep a backup of their vital DATA. The worst case I saw was a wedding photographer - who came to me last year - with a crashed laptop and you've guessed it 500 pictures of a wedding he had done at the weekend still on the laptop! I did manage to save them but I think he learned his lesson the hard way.How do I backup?Well...using a USB stick or external harddrive is all well and good BUT what if your drive gets stolen or god forbid what if there's a fire...the backup will probaly get damaged beyond recovery and all your precious files will be more than likely gone! There is a solution, backup your data with an online backup service. This in my opinion is the best way to go, because if disaster does ever strike all your precious data will be stored securely online off your premises! The service I use is called ibackup, I have tried all the top providers and ibackup in my opinion are the best of the best.
